About Unge Forskere
Unge Forskere (Young Scientists) is a Danish national science fair. We strive to find and acknowledge talents in the field of natural science and believe that science is a powerful tool to understand and change the world for the better. Our goal is to contribute to society in a meaningful way by inspiring the new younger generation. Unge Forskere was founded in 1989.
Unge Forskere accepts science projects from Danish elementary schools and high schools from students up to 21 y.o. The projects compete in three categories: Technology, Life Science and Physical Science.
Unge Forskere has five regional semifinals which take place in March. From the semifinals 100 projects qualify to the finals in late April. The finals take place during the science- and technology fair Science in Forum with more than 6.000 public visitors and wide range of hands-on science activities from exhibitors like Google and LEGO.
Unge Forskere has affiliation agreements with international science fairs from Norway, Holland, EU, USA, China and Brazil and invites delegations from the affiliated fairs to participate in the finals. Four of the international projects will be rewarded with a prize each year.
